That sounds like an awesome experience! I'm going to have to agree with you that, as cliche as it sounds, diversity is phenomenally beautiful. It really strikes a chord when you see so many different kinds of people gathered together...I don't feel like we got enough of that in college.

Awesome post. I couldn't agree more with the noticing game. I've also found, as you pointed out, that beauty is often subsumed by our need to get somewhere or accomplish something. Finding time to live in the present - which is completely doable while still walking or going somewhere - yields an incredible amount of beauty.

As for the most beautiful thing I've experienced in the past month... I would have to say it was the overall experience of visiting Rumi's tomb in Konya. The whole experience was magical and beautiful as I was surrounded by people weeping as they were overcome by emotions from seeing his coffin. Even more beautiful than the pure spiritual and emotional openness was seeing the diversity in the crowd, something I did not expect at all. There was a large number of covered Turkish women, side-by-side with at least one Jew, Christians, Asians, and Africans - as well as a Christian-Islamic unity project from Queens. It was all pretty dope.

Do you not think mental health/happiness falls under that? I actually was going to include "Be spiritual" as one of the components of that section but decided against it because the evidence with regards to how it translates into physical health is too spotty. Those who are spiritual but not religious can be more prone to mental health problems. Religious individuals tend to live longer, but much of that effect is due to community involvement and improved social relationships, which I cover separately.

Thank you for the compliment! I should hope that this was useful to as many people as possible.

What an amazing list you have put together. It was very informative and educational, both of which I love. I have studied numerous others which were either missing vital components or completely misleading with wrong or out dated information. I do have one question. Why did you choose to leave out spiritual health? It is written, "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all of these thing shall be added to you." Matthew 6:33. If you do not believe in God I challenge you to research spiritual health and if you are a believe I still challenge you to compile a section for spiritual health. Either way you win by gaining more knowledge and wisdom in this area and by helping others as well with the knowledge
